Car manufacturers commonly place their logo in their cars, displaying the brand name or model type. These molded emblems are usually mounted at the back or side of the vehicle. There are many reasons why car owners remove car emblems. Many people do not really like having so many badges on their vehicles. Others remove the emblems as part of their effort to clean or customize their cars or trucks. If you want to remove your vehicle's badges, here are some simple steps that you can follow:

Before removing your car emblems, follow a couple of precautions. Make sure the emblem is applied with a double-sided tape. Some embles are screw bolted. Also make sure that there are no holes at back of the emblem. Generally, however, car emblems are just like normal big stickers that can be removed easily. Wash and clean the area to remove any dirt and debris. You need to do that to make sure you won't scrath the paint.

To scrape off the emblem, use a nylon spatula tool. Do not use razor blades or any metal scraper for they will scratch your paint. You also need to use hairdryer to heat up the badges. Apply enough heat to warm the emblem. Too much heat will damage your paint.

Carefully slide the spatula between the car emblem. Once it has started to lift up, you can easily remove it by hand. Once the emblem is removed, the next thing to do is get rid of the sticky double sided tape. The safest way to remove it is by using your hands. Afterwards, use solvent based adhesive remover to completely clean the adhesive. Finally, polish and wax the area for uniform gloss.
